Cursor Region Measurements control over the bus

RIGOL scopes, including the 1000Z family, all make it possible to calculate on screen measurements. There is also a feature to only measure the values between cursors instead of across the entire display. This is handy for measurements around a trigger event when other signals might disturb the measurements from just before or just after the event.

Here are the commands we can send to the instrument to set it up to make measurements on a portion of the display:
 
 
:MEAS:AREA CREG

:MEASure:CREGion:CAX 300

:MEASure:CREGion:CBX 501

 
//These commands set our measurements to the Cursor Region and set the region to be //from the center of the screen to 4 divisions to the right of center. The region points are from Zero to 601. 301 is the center and each division is 50 points wide.

 

:MEAS:ITEM? FREQ,CHAN1

//When we request the measurement we can now see that it is only related to the data within the cursor region:
